The Tri-State Board of Officials has been in existence since 1935.
Tri-State has established itself as
a developer of some of the best officials in the Delaware Valley.
Outstanding officials for basketball,
football, baseball, soccer, track and field, and many other
sports have come through our programs.
Tri-State takes pride in its development of quality officials, by offering
clinics for new and veteran officials.
During yearly spring clincs, for 6 weeks we offer on and off court
training in conjunction with
the Sonny Hill Developmental League. During the fall season we offer 8
week training sessions in
conjunction with the Salvation Army North Broad street branch. The fall
clinics involve classroom
discussion and video tape screening for rules interpretation and court
awareness.
Tri-State has been affiliated with established basketball leagues, sports
organizations, and
tournaments such as Hoop-it Up, Philadelphia Suns tournament, Blue
Cross/Blue Shield, Thomas
Jefferson Hospital, and Smith Kline Beecham, just to name a few.
We have member participation in the Philadelphiia Public League, Catholic
League, PIAA,
Philadelphia Pro-Am Summer League, NCAA Divisions I, II, & III,
for the NCAA, Olympic trials and
local schools.
